June 2009
For my birthday I had my very first sleepover. 6 of my best friends
came over. I told my dad I wanted tons of sugar. Pop, candies,
cookies, brownies. We had to stay up as late as possible. My dad said
we were super noisy. He had his headphones on for most of the time. We
watched the movie Doctor Doolittle and Home Alone 3. We also went
swimming. We didn’t get to stay up super late. Only 12 O’clock. One
sleepover at a friends house we stayed up till 3 in the morning. I had a
lot of fun though even though I didn’t get to stay up super late.

March 2009
We flew into California to get to Tahoe. We stayed at a friend of ours
in Los Gatos. The morning before we left to Tahoe, we went to a really
cool farmers market. It seemed like everyone were walking there dogs.
That evening we drove into Tahoe. It was snowing part of the way. It
just snowed a whole bunch. The next few days we spent snowboarding in
pow. I went to Kirkwood. We went to a backcountry spot to do this
really crazy chute. It was the scariest think I’ve done before. It was
a lot of fun though when I finally did it. It was really fun riding
with a bunch of the other snowboarders in the pow. We hit this one hip
and everyone kept crashing, but it was super fun because it was like
landing in pillows. One other day we went to Regan beach. Every year I
go there and find some new features to do. I did a really cool wooden
street rail and a table. I went over to the “junkyard”. Its a place
where a lot of junk is all over the place and you make really cool
features to ride on. We setup a tree bonk. First time I did the
feature though I slipped off the pipe and slammed my wrist into the
tree. We went to the hospital later and found out it was broken. So I
just ended up chilling for the rest of the trip and shoot studio
stuff. It was kindof a bummer. There were a lot more things I wanted
to do. We flew out of Reno and stayed in a casino. Dad and I ate at
buffet. They had awesome desserts.

Las Vegas
I went to Las Vegas for a snowboard comp at a ski and snowboard convention SIA. The week before Vegas someone ran into me at Hyland and my ankle was hurting me a lot. We drove in a taxi to our hotel. The hotel was a cool one. It was shaped like a pyramid. Our room was ok. But the cool thing was that every hotel was connected in some way. We were there with friends. My friend Willie Borm was there for a ski comp. We went to the convention center. It was amazing. Every snowboard company was at the convention showing their new stuff for next year. When I was getting ready for the competition my ankle really started hurting. So we decided to go to the hospital. They said I had a bone contusion. Thankfully it wasn’t broken. I used crutches for the first time. I didn’t really like them. They hurt my armpits. We walked around a lot and I took a lot of pictures. My friends pushed me around in a wheel chair. I didn’t like this also. There was a really cool water show with a fountain in the front of a hotel. Later that night we went to a rock concert at the Hard Rock Café. The next day we flew home. I had fun but I was also bummed because I couldn’t do the competition.

Lexi in the New York Times

Alexis gets featured in the New York Times!
“Spring break at the beach in California. Not the kind of beach you typically visit on spring break, but rather a beach on the south shore of Lake Tahoe — which, until very recently, was covered in a crust of ice. Nonetheless, it’s a fine little vacation: a freakishly talented pint-size snowboarder riding some of America’s most picturesque terrain, while men with video cameras tag along to shoot a movie…”
